A FORGOTTEN WAR

The war that began in 2011 has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths and injuries, as well as over 6.6 million refugees and 6.7 million internally displaced people. In addition to the humanitarian crisis, 90% of people in Syria live below the poverty line.

The Christian population has decreased drastically, from 1.5 million to just 400,000. Many have been forced to flee the country, putting Christianity at risk of disappearing entirely in the region.

FAITH CANNOT DIE IN SYRIA AND LEBANON

FAITH CANNOT DIE IN SYRIA AND LEBANON

ACN has been helping Christians in Syria since the war began in 2011. To this date, ACN has supported over 1,237 projects*, many of which are essential or of great urgency.

The situation remains critical and will continue for years to come. That’s why the Church in Syria has asked ACN for help. Priests and nuns who remain in the country need our support to help and give hope to materially and spiritually devastated people. Young people need reasons to stay and think about starting a family.
