MASSES for the Deceased
Through Aid to the Church in Need, we will send your stipend*, in its entirety,to priests all over the worldwho suffer from hardship and poverty, one of them will celebrate the Eucharist for your needs and intentions. Thanks to your help, they can subsist and thus exercise their missionary and priestly work to help their entire community.
*A Mass stipend is a donation that you entrust to a priest to be used for the celebration of a Eucharist for your particular intentions.
Offering a Mass for the soul of a deceased loved one is one of the most meaningful gestures of love and spiritual help. By requesting Masses for the deceased, we can help to alleviate their sorrows, facilitate their release from purgatory and guide them to eternal happiness in heaven.
The stipend associated with the Mass allows benefactors not only to participate in the celebration of the Eucharist, but also to support priests who are persecuted for their faith and also priests who are in areas of great need and thus support their various pastoral activities. This offering reflects our faith in the mediation of the Church.
Many benefactors choose to request monthly Masses for a full year in memory of their loved one. Others prefer to request a Mass on significant dates such as the anniversary of death, birthdays, wedding anniversaries or other important moments in the life of the deceased. Each Mass is an act of faith and hope, a powerful way to keep alive the memory of our loved ones and entrust their soul to God’s love and mercy.
The celebration of the Eucharist is the greatest work of spiritual mercy, the most precious gift you can give to others.
With this Mass stipend you will support needy priests around the world. In 2023, a total of 1,744,410 Masses were celebrated at the request of our benefactors, enabling us to financially support a total of 40,767 priests – on average, one in ten worldwide. This means that they celebrate more than 4,780 Masses daily, one of whom will celebrate the Eucharist(s) for your intentions.
Most priests not only use their Mass stipends for their own support, but also to cover part of the costs of their pastoral activity. Thus, Mass stipends guarantee the immediate sustenance of the priests and their parishes.
