Church in Simferopol serves as a sanctuary of faith and human accompaniment amid the severe economic hardships and difficult circumstances facing the local population in Ukraine. Through a spiritual and psychological support program designed to assist between 50 and 70 people—supported by 15,000 € in aid—the local ecclesial community actively sustains individuals who have fallen into despair. Among those helped is Ana, a local resident who struggled with addiction and felt like an outsider while trying to live out her faith.
Pastoral and psychological care provided by the Church in Simferopol
Thanks to the loving support of benefactors, Sr. Julia—a religious sister and trained psychologist—offers pastoral care to local believers and teaches the faith and catechism to children and families alongside another sister. In addition, Sr. Julia organizes and carries out psychological care within the local Church, regularly visiting the sick and lonely while conducting individual and group counseling sessions.

Personal transformation and overcoming addiction
This comprehensive care proved to be a vital lifeline for Ana. Guided by Sr. Julia, she was able to examine her life difficulties more closely, gain a deeper self-understanding, and begin overcoming her addiction.
Together, they explored Sacred Scripture and deepened Ana’s prayer life. In the company of Sr. Julia and the other religious sisters, Ana found a true home in the Catholic faith and a renewed, deeper relationship with God.
