The last refuge for Christians in Lebanon

Today, in Lebanon, thousands of Christian families are facing dire circumstances. The war has destroyed homes, torn families apart, and left many without the bare necessities: food, medical care, or a safe place to live.

But the Church remains. And you can stand with them.

Amid the war, churches in Lebanon remain open, welcoming those who have lost everything. Parishes, schools, and health centers have become places of life, offering practical help and spiritual comfort.

A crisis that shows no signs of abating

The situation in Lebanon has reached a critical point. The recent escalation of the conflict in the Middle East has triggered an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with more than a million people displaced and entire communities destroyed. The attacks are affecting the entire population. Today, there is no safe place left in the country. Amid this reality, the Church remains one of the few open refuges for those who have lost everything.

Lebanon, ongoing aid projects

Taking action today shapes the future. Emergency projects are underway across the country to support Christian communities affected by the war.

Emergency aid for displaced people

  • Food, hygiene kits, and basic clothing
  • Medical care for the injured and sick
  • Shelter in parishes, schools, and Church centers: fuel for heating and generators

Support for families and communities affected by the war

  • Accommodation and care for displaced persons (the elderly, the sick, families, etc.)
  • Psychological support and spiritual guidance for the faithful
  • Activities and spiritual support for children traumatized by war

Supporting Christian education and presence

  • Support for Catholic education through assistance to more than 50 Catholic schools throughout Lebanon
  • Funding for pastoral activities to strengthen the faith
  • Support for the formation of catechists, young people, and laypeople

The Church in Lebanon simply needs generous people like you to help support Christians who are suffering the consequences of the war

The Church in Lebanon continues to be a refuge

Thousands of families in Lebanon have been forced to flee their homes and have lost everything.

Amid the uncertainty, the Church stands firm, opening its doors to welcome and support those most in need, reminding them that, thanks to people like you, they are not alone.

Thanks to your help, the Church can continue to provide food, medical care, and support to those most in need. But the need remains.

Today, you can help ensure that the Church remains a refuge for those who have nothing.

An urgent call for peace in Lebanon and the Middle East

Amid the escalating violence, Pope Leo XIV has spoken out clearly:

“Lay down your weapons—remember that you are brothers!”

The Holy Father condemned the violence plaguing the Middle East and reminded everyone that God cannot be used to justify war.

He also expressed his solidarity with the Christians suffering in the region, many of whom are unable to fully practice their faith because of the conflict.

His message is clear:
Peace is not optional.
It is urgent.

And today, that urgency has a face: the families of Lebanon.
