Prayer and Aid to Catholics in Syria

Prayer and solidarity for Christians in Aleppo and Syria

Your help is essential to give them hope. DONATE HERE ”»

ACN is actively responding to this crisis through emergency relief projects and is soliciting funding assistance:

  • Medical assistance to support hospitals treating critical cases and elderly and chronically ill patients.
  • Aid to displaced people, providing food, mattresses and blankets to displaced families both in Aleppo and other areas.
  • Alternative solar and electric power.
  • Support for Christian schools in Aleppo.

How you can help:

  • Pray : Ask your parish, community and family to pray for Aleppo and for peace in Syria.
  • Donate : Your contributions will provide vital resources for food, shelter and medical care.

Aleppo cries out for help! When fear dominates, faith becomes your last hope.

In Aleppo, fear and violence have resurfaced with intensity. Extremist groups have launched surprise offensives, seizing villages and cutting off vital routes, such as the road between Aleppo and Damascus. The situation is tense; fighting is coming within 10 kilometers of the city, leaving hospitals overcrowded and a population engulfed by the fighting.

In the midst of this adversity, faith remains a beacon of hope. Father Hugo Alaniz, an Argentinean missionary, reminds us of the people’s trust in divine intercession and the power of prayer. It is a call to unite in prayer for the peace and security of this devastated region.

May our prayers be a comfort to those who suffer and a fervent plea for an end to the violence in Aleppo.

FAITH CANNOT DIE IN SYRIA AND LEBANON

ACN has been helping Christians in Syria since the war began in 2011. To this date, ACN has supported over 1,237 projects*, many of which are essential or of great urgency.

The situation remains critical and will continue for years to come. That’s why the Church in Syria has asked ACN for help. Priests and nuns who remain in the country need our support to help and give hope to materially and spiritually devastated people. Young people need reasons to stay and think about starting a family.

“Both Lebanon and Syria, two biblical countries, are emptying of Christians due to wars and the economic crisis that has brought them to ruin, and has brought hunger and misery to families.”

 – Regina Lynch, the foundation’s Director of Projects –

ACN works closely with Catholic leaders and other charities to provide humanitarian aid and short- and long-term support to Christians in Lebanon and Syria. Here are the projects you can support with your generous donation:

Testimonies of Faith, Hope and Resilience

War, inflation and crisis make life difficult for Christians in Syria and Lebanon. Many are unable to cover basic expenses and struggle to survive. Generous aid can make a huge difference to the suffering of these people.

The elderly are not strong enough to escape the horrors of war in Syria. Many have become internal refugees and are alone. Thanks to ACN, they receive material and spiritual help to survive.

Inflation has affected the education sector in Lebanon. Teachers are leaving the country and children’s education is at risk. Help make sure that generation is not lost and can move their homeland forward.

Shiraz and Koko are a deaf married couple who have survived the war in Syria thanks to the support of the Church. Their life has changed radically and, due to inflation, their current salaries do not help them enough to survive.

He was a jeweler and the war took everything from him. His workshop was looted by terrorists and his house was bombed. Adversity did not destroy his good heart and help the deaf living in difficult situations in the midst of war.

Simon owns an Internet store and Sandy works in a pharmacy. The war in Syria was the setting for their love story. Simon preferred to stay in his country next to his beloved, because if he became a refugee, he would not be able to take her with him. Thanks to ACN, this marriage remains united and can have a future in Syria.

Donate today. Every bit of help, no matter how small, can make a big difference in the lives of persecuted Christians, but DON’T FORGET.

Together we can help our fellow Catholics in Lebanon and Syria to recover and keep their faith in Christ alive.
