Emergency Relief for Christian Families in the Holy Land

Since October 7th, 2023, the Holy Land has been engulfed in a devastating crisis, with innocent lives hanging by a thread. The horrifying scenes of destruction, violence, and suffering have left us with heavy hearts. Christian communities in Gaza, West Bank, and East Jerusalem are struggling to survive amidst this turmoil.

Your support matters!

The Church: A Refuge for Christians in the Gaza Strip

Emergency Assistance

In the Gaza Strip, over 1,000 Christians have found refuge within the Holy Family Catholic Convent and the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyry. These places of worship have become their pillars of support, offering them sustenance, water, medical attention, and spiritual guidance. Sister Nabila, a member of the Sisters of the Holy Rosary and a partner in the ACN project, emphasizes, «We urgently require medications, as numerous hospitals have been destroyed, and the local population is left with nothing. We cannot turn our backs on our brothers.»

West Bank: A Struggle for Many Who Had Almost Nothing

Emergency Assistance

In the West Bank, more than 37,000 Palestinian Christians grapple with economic hardships, which have been exacerbated by their isolation from Jerusalem. Most of them previously worked in the tourism industry, a sector now at a standstill. George Akroush, another partner in the ACN project, raises concerns about this dire situation, stating, «Those with chronic illnesses are suffering, and essentials like food, rent, water, and electricity are increasingly becoming challenges.»

Jerusalem, the City of Peace in a State of War

Emergency Assistance

While there are just under 10,000 Palestinian Christians residing in East Jerusalem, the total population of Jerusalem nears one million. Over 40% of Christians are employed in the tourism sector, which has led to significant unemployment due to the complete halt in tourism activities. Hotels stand empty, tourists have departed, and many buildings are now being repurposed to provide temporary shelter for the reserve army and displaced families from the southern region, near the Gaza border.

Never war! Above all, I think of all the children who are robbed of their hope for a better life and a decent future. Killed children, wounded children, mutilated children, orphans, children who play with remnants of war, instead of toys. Children who don't know how to smile. Please stop! I ask you with all my heart. It's time to stop. Stop it please!
