IN THE NAME OF GOD, IT IS TIME TO SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Religious persecution in Nigeria is a reality that is getting worse every day. Our brothers and sisters suffer attacks, fear, and abandonment. We cannot remain indifferent! They need to know that they are not alone… Will you respond to their cry today?

A wounded Church… but alive

Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, is facing an unprecedented wave of violence.

Despite the pain, the Church does not abandon its mission: to accompany, heal, and proclaim the Gospel.

Three faces of the same country

🟥North: Terrorism and open persecution. Churches destroyed.

🟨Middle belt: Conflicts between herders and farmers. Entire villages displaced.

🟩South: Priests kidnapped. Extreme poverty and communities in need of rebuilding their hope.

You and ACN

For several years now, with your help, ACN has been supporting the Church in Nigeria with humanitarian aid, reconstruction, and spiritual support projects.

Thanks to your generosity, priests and religious sisters serving in dangerous areas can continue their mission, and displaced families receive food, shelter, and comfort.

Your help and your prayers can sustain their struggle and renew their hope.

Nigeria needs you

Thousands of Christians in Nigeria are experiencing great suffering. Many families have lost everything.

Persecution, violence, and discrimination have destroyed homes and displaced entire communities.

Yet, in the midst of darkness, their faith continues to shine.

Your help and your prayers can sustain their hope and keep the light of the Gospel alive.

You can be light and faith

Christians in Nigeria live in fear and violence. Many churches have been destroyed, thousands of families have been displaced, but their faith remains strong. You can be the force that keeps them standing firm.

Today you can be part of their story:

Let Nigeria feel your embrace of solidarity and prayer.

Your help nourishes their hope and strengthens a Church that is wounded but alive.

Nigeria: Church in the spotlight

Priests kidnapped or murdered in Nigeria in 2022:

28 Kidnapped priests

4 Murdered priests

Photo: Father Félix, who was kidnapped by unknown assailants on March 24, 2022. During his captivity, he was subjected to daily mistreatment, and was even shot in the left foot. Despite receiving no medical treatment, Fr. Felix managed to survive until his release on May 3, 2022, after a ransom was paid. He was promptly transported to a Catholic hospital in Wusasa, Zaria, where he underwent treatment for the next three months.

Deborah Samuel murdered for a text message

Deborah Samuel Yakubu was a student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, northern Nigeria. In May of 2022, she was accused of having sent a blasphemous WhatsApp message about Mohammed (a central figure for the Islam) during Ramadan (fasting and prayer period for Muslims), while the college was closed for holidays. When she returned to class, a group of students was waiting and attacked her. They threw stones at her and then set fire to her body. After two people were arrested for her murder, groups of rioters attacked Christian sites in different places in the state capital.
