M’Baïki Cathedral in the Central African Republic is witnessing a creative approach to faith where colorful stained glass windows help overcome illiteracy and bring the Word of God to children. In the small village of M’Baïki, illiteracy often keeps children in the dark, away from Christian instruction. However, local catechists have discovered a wonderful way to teach the Holy Bible using the vibrant windows of their own cathedral.
“One thing I ask from the Lord… to gaze on the beauty of the Lord.” (Psalm 27:4)

A local artist painted 96 stained glass windows inspired by the illustrations of Aid to the Church in Need, ACN’s Child’s Bible. Each window depicts three passages of Sacred Scripture, enabling the parish’s 150 catechists, as well as local children and parishioners, to contemplate God’s love during their formation and share it with those who cannot read.
Just as the Gospel was carved into stone in ancient times so that people could access the Word of God, today in this cathedral, children and adults access the story of salvation through stained glass and colorful catechetical images.
Light, color, and benefactor generosity intertwine in this one-year project to bear fruit in every child, proving that love is stronger than any barrier.
