Support Syrian children who have endured the ravages of war and persecution by providing them with a monthly supply of nutritious milk.
The A Drop of Milk program provides a certain amount of milk every month to Christian children under the age of eleven in Aleppo, Syria. Milk, particularly during these times of scarcity, plays a vital role in the growth and well-being of children. The children of Aleppo, already facing challenging circumstances, should not be deprived of this fundamental source of nutrition necessary for their physical development and health. Since 2015, through Donate a Drop of Milk, ACN has ensured the monthly distribution of milk to approximately 3,000 children, with 2,750 receiving powdered milk and 250 receiving specialized milk for infants. For instance, in 2018 alone, a total of 40 tons of milk were distributed.
Empower Aleppo’s Children: Donate a Drop of Milk Today!
If a family needs to buy milk, they would have to spend almost all of their income. Each can of milk costs around 3,000 Syrian pounds, which is approximately five euros, while the average salary is 30,000 Syrian pounds, about 50 euros. With that amount, it is impossible to cover all expenses. Moreover, the lack of employment affects the majority of the population.
None of these children are forgotten by the Father who is in heaven! None of their tears are lost!
Myriam is ten years old; Pamela is six. We are one of the beneficiaries of the ‘A Drop of Milk’ project. Both Myriam and Pamela get one kilogram of milk powder every month. Pamela’s health is critical after being hit by a bomb that left shrapnel in her back. Now that she is recovering, she needs milk to become healthier and stronger. This project is very important for my family and me, and I’d really like it to continue. “Charitable organizations entirely fund the milk project… and the money is running out. Dr. Antaki has approached ACN for support to be able to keep running the milk program. We have assured Dr. Antaki that we will help provide milk for the children of Aleppo.
Today, your assistance to Syria holds greater significance than ever before. Following the devastating earthquake on February 6, 2023, compounded by a decade-long war, the nation’s economy has crumbled, leading to severe shortages of essential provisions such as food and medicine. Moreover, the people of Syria now face heightened vulnerability to the looming threat of the coronavirus. While the pandemic already strains healthcare systems worldwide, its impact on Syria is unimaginable. Countless hospitals lie in ruins or suffer extensive damage, leaving many medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, either deceased or forced to flee their homeland. The situation calls for urgent international support to alleviate the suffering faced by the Syrian population.
Millions of families find themselves in a state of despair as they struggle to provide nourishment for their children. It is imperative that we stand alongside these vulnerable families, particularly the youngest members who have become innocent casualties of this prolonged conflict. They have already been robbed of their childhood, and it is our duty to ensure that their lives are not taken away as well. Let us unite in preventing further loss and tragedy.
«I invite you all, together with ACN, to do a work of mercy in every part of the world.»
