The Holy Mass is the most powerful prayer that exists, the center and summit of the Christian life (cf. Catechism, 1324). By offering a Novena of Masses you accompany with nine days of grace and supplication those who need it most, trusting in God’s infinite mercy.
Whether for your deceased or for special intentions of health, conversion, gratitude or petition, this form of prayer is a concrete act of charity and faith.
The Novenario is an ancient Catholic tradition of celebrating nine consecutive Masses for one intention.
✔️ It is usually offered especially for the faithful departed, as a prayer of intercession for their purification and encounter with God.
✔️ But it can also be offered for the living: for healing, urgent needs, birthdays, thanksgiving or special requests.
This is what the Catechism teaches us: “The Church offers the Eucharistic sacrifice also for the faithful departed so that, purified, they may reach the beatific vision of God.” (CCC 1032).
Scripture teaches us to pray unceasingly (1 Thess 5:17) and to intercede for the dead (2 Macc 12:46).
The Council of Trent reaffirmed: “In the sacrifice of the Mass, a true propitiatory sacrifice is offered to God for the living and the dead” (Dz 940).
The YouCat reminds us: “By offering Holy Mass for someone, we entrust that person in a special way to the saving power of Christ” (YouCat 280).
The Mass is not just a symbol: is the actualization of the one sacrifice of Christ on Calvary (cf. CCC 1366).
Every Mass is a real participation in the paschal mystery. St. John Paul II said:
“The Eucharist is Christ’s greatest act of love for humanity.”
To offer a Novena of Masses is to multiply this love nine times over your intention.
Thanks to Mass stipends, the ACN Pontifical Foundation supports more than 40,000 priests in poor, persecuted or needy areas each year.
✅ In Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe
✅ In remote or war-torn parishes
✅ In places where, without help, there would be no Mass and no sacraments
Your offering not only brings spiritual graces to those you love: it also strengthens the Church where it is most needed.
“The priest who celebrates your Novena Mass prays with you and for your intention, becoming a bridge of hope.”
“Offering Masses for our deceased is the greatest act of love we can do for them.”
— Saint Alphonsus Liguori
